You notice right away how petite the frame is, barely taking up space on that narrow mattress, one arm stretched overhead with fingertips grazing the ceiling above.

You find your eyes tracing the length of the body, the way the sheets bunch low, the soft curve of a hip catching the light. You want to climb up there, close that small distance between you.

You already know the top bunk was never meant for sleeping. You can picture exactly how little room there would be, bodies pressed close, nowhere to go but closer.
